Sunsets: Modern Day Rainbows

Smog

filled sunset refracting sunlight

A warmth

emanating gently

Behind a sticky, visceral ball

of cotton candy called a cloud

Unnatural rays

of soft purple beauty

Visual ecstasy in the byproducts of Sun and man

pinned and hung

between the earth and sky,

Colors clash 

beautifully

in the confluence that is twilight

A sign of humanity

touched by God's grace

Again, 

making beauty out of our mistakes
